In 1923 The Bombonera was placed in the intersection of Brandsen Street and Del Valle Iberlucea Street. It's terraces were made of wood planks.
The construction of the Camilo Cichero Stadium started in 1938, and it was inaugurated in May 25th, 1940, with a match between Club Atlético Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo de Almagro. Boca won 2-0.

The old Bombonera (1953-1995)
After nine years, the construction of the third level started. From 1953 to 1996 no major modifications were made. During January of 1996 the Executive Boxes were demolished, and the tower was brought down to build the new VIP Boxes.

Since December 27th, 2000 the Bombonera has a new name:
"ALBERTO J. ARMANDO STADIUM"..
